In consensus with the industries that produce chronic dieters, the 2013 analysis done by Shankar argues that we don’t have sufficient evidence either to recommend not to not recommend artificial sweeteners.(1)

 

Some research shows that the use of artificial sweeteners is associated with a modest weight loss. (2)

 

Other research shows that the use of artificial sweeteners is associated with weight gain. (3,4, 5, 6, 7, 8)

 

Everyone says they are right. (9)

 

Just that, besides weight loss or weight gain, the use of artificial sweeteners is also associated with:

 

  1. glucose intolerance induced by dysbiosis (10,11, 1213, 14)
  2. diabetes (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
  3. cardiovascular disease (22, 23, 24, 25, 26)

 

And also, starting 2012 artificial sweeteners are recognised as environmental contaminants. (27, 28, 29)

 

So, don’t worry = no sugar?
