In consensus with the industries that produce chronic dieters, the 2013 analysis done by Shankar argues that we don’t have sufficient evidence either to recommend nor to not recommend artificial sweeteners (1).
Some research shows that the use of artificial sweeteners is associated with a modest weight loss (2).
Everyone says they are right (9).
Just that, besides weight loss or weight gain, the use of artificial sweeteners is also associated with:
- glucose intolerance induced by dysbiosis (10,11, 12, 13, 14)
- diabetes (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21)
- cardiovascular disease (22, 23, 24, 25, 26)
So, don’t worry = no sugar?
